3 Celebrity Birthday Lupita Nyong o This month Actress Lupita Nyong o celebrates her 35th Birthday! Lupita was born in Mexico to Kenyan parents and was also raised in Kenya. She is fluent in Spanish, Luo, English, and Swahili. Nyong o began her career working as part of a production crew for many films, one of which was The Constant Gardener starring Ralph Fiennes. In fact, Lupita sites Fiennes as a person who not only inspired, but also encouraged her to begin a career in acting herself. In 2009, Lupita directed and produced a documentary named In My Shoes that went on to win first prize at the Five College Film Festival. Soon after graduating she landed the role of Chiwetel Ejiofor in Steve McQueen s historical drama 12 Years a Slave. For this she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, and went on to also win an Oscar! Making her the first Kenyan Actress to win an Oscar and the fifteenth female Actress to win an Oscar for a debut performance in a feature film. 5 Jewel Day 13th March Jewel, is a term used to refer to a gemstone and comes from the Medieval Latin word Jocale, meaning pastime or plaything. Readings which offer wise counsel and guidance are more rewarding, in my opinion, than simply trying to whittle each life situation down to a yay or nay. Though I am a fairly typical Piscean, I feel that other planet influences figure prominently in contributing to a person s attributes. It helps to know how these cycles affect us and when they peak or bottom out, so as to know best when to be active or when it is better to stay still and wait.
