2 When I started practicing yoga in 1996, the original motivation was to touch my toes! I had no idea the journey I was beginning to undertake would be so profound and transformational. Twenty years later, I can touch my toes, and along the way I discovered that my talent and my passion has become helping others nourish their unique journey toward self discovery. Much of my work explores opening and connecting to the mayakoshas (sheaths) or layers of being as a means to merge with the Essential Self. Each sheath is an integral part of who we are: the physical, energetic/emotional, mental, intuitive and bliss body. As we search for equilibrium both within and in between these layers, we begin to truly understand ourselves and the outside world around us. Through breath, movement and awareness I help you cultivate deep presence and empower you to live wildly with a fully open heart.

4 Sayulita is a vibrant small Mexican town, with shopping, food, dancing, surfing and warm, generous people. The perfect place for a yoga holiday! This is my sixth year returning to the charming Hotelito Los Sueños, or Little Hotel of Dreams; that is how much I love it here. It is truly a place to relax and enjoy the beautiful tropical seaside village of Sayulita. There are a variety of different rooms, including some new suites this year, that are all tastefully decorated in a traditional Mexican style with ceramic tile floors. The hotelito has 2 yoga studios that are open-air spaces with natural rubber floors. The owner of Hotelito Los Sueños is a yoga practitioner and has created this space to share his joy of practicing yoga in a tropical environment. The studio was designed and built with great care and attention for the yoga practitioner. You are provided with fresh, light and healthy Mexican brunches after every morning practice. As for dinners, I make reservations at my favourite restaurants so we can try all the delicious food that Sayulita has to offer. Mexican cuisine is known around the world for its outstanding flavour, creativity and variety. You will eat well in Mexico, I guarantee! The only challenge will be to sample so many wonderful dishes.

I create a safe environment for you to move into a 4-step process to uncover the layers of being as a means to merge deeper within. This model allows you to begin to attune into yourself and your surroundings more profoundly, and great things begin to happen! We open areas that store blocked emotions and release related mental limitations leading to the issues in the tissues. RECOGNIZE THE POWER OF THE MIND Working with our mind can be one of the greatest challenges on this journey ~ the thinking mind can hinder ever step while the intuitive mind can set us free. I will help students use their power to banish perceived smallness. I will challenge myself and others to recognize growth in moments of uncertainty and discomfort. 7 Culinary & Cultural Soul Adventure in Oaxaca This year I am offering a second week after the Sayulita immersion in historic Oaxaca for a week of gastronomy, culture and history, including: markets, street dances, cooking classes, delicious mezcal margaritas, ancient ruins, Colonial architecture, natural wonders and cultural beauty beyond compare. Why Oaxaca? FEB 24 - MAR 3, 2018 I left my heart in Oaxaca, the artistic heartland of Mexico, when I came to visit in 2016 with my family. It ranks as one of my top 5 places on the planet. I knew I had to return but didn t want to keep this experience to myself. So I promised to bring other beautiful souls to change their lives forever. I ve partnered with Teddy Solano, Mexican chef and adventurer at heart to help lead this fantastic week. This is a 7-day adventure that will give you a truly different perspective of Mexico. Oaxaca s unique cultural traditions and historic attractions bring visitors from the world over. A symphony of sound, colour and taste awaits you and I as we discover Oaxaca one day at a time! 8 Oaxaca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a burgeoning cultural and culinary capital, considered to be one of Mexico s most captivating cities. Oaxaca, pronounced wah-hah-kah, is a small dynamic city located in southwestern Mexico. Oaxaca is artsy, ancient and dizzyingly beautiful - easy to love and hard to leave behind. Considered the culinary capital of Mexico, Oaxaca doesn t disappoint when it comes to shopping and food. This city is also packed with magnificent colonial architecture, stunning museums and colourful handicrafts, plant-filled courtyards and shady plazas. Visitors flock to see impressive pre-columbian ruins, baroque churches and magical festivals. From art to food to history to natural wonders, this city has it all. Our week together will include private cooking classes with chef Teddy Solano, mezcal tastings, archaeological sites like Monte Alban and Hieve El Agua, a night bike ride through the city, market shopping and a visit to the gorgeous river canyon with mythical and historical significance: Santiago Apoala! We will stay at the boutique hotel El Diablo y el Sandia right in the centre of the historic town, with markets, restaurants, galleries and museums all within walking distance. Teddy will be accompanying us on our entire trip to help with translating and giving us access into an authentic Mexican experience. I ask every participant to commit to lovingly preparing themselves before leaving - communicating with Carla about any special needs, taking care of travel plans well in advance, and ensuring that you take care of as many life details as possible before you leave so that you can fully immerse yourself in the experience of being on retreat. Every retreat participants receives a comprehensive Participant Survey, Don t Forget Me List and Community Agreement. What is included: Everything as indicated in the preceeding pages, including all classes and workshops, specified meals, accommodations, indicated tours and events. What isn t included: Airfare, travel and personal insurance, additional meals, alcoholic beverages not included with provided meals, personal tours and any related expenses. Payment: All international retreats are in US Dollars - although I will accept CDN dollars from Canadian residents at PAR. One to three months before the retreat, 50% of the tuition will be refunded. Less than one month to the start date of the retreat, the total tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable. Credits Policy: In the event the participant cancels their reservation before the balance is due, 50% of the $500 non-refundable deposit may be transferred to a future retreat provided that each of the following guidelines are met: The retreat is hosted by Carla Wainwright. The credit is used for a retreat scheduled no later than 1 year after the original retreat start date. Insurance: I recommend that all participants purchase travel insurance to protect their flights and trip from unexpected interruption or change.
