Why should a spiritual organization be like other corporate and public sector organization be driven by a vision? 6

the spiritual organization caters to both living and life. spiritual organizations require a 100 fold more dedication and commitment 7

. 8

Swami has given mankind the 9 Point Code of Conduct Point Code of Conduct. This 9 Point Code of Conduct is indeed an integral yoga comprising of the following: (a) Bhajans (Bhakti Yoga or devotional), (b) Seva (Karma Yoga or Service), (c) Study circles (Jyana Yoga or Knowledge) and (d) meditation (Dhyana Yoga) Led and fostered directly by the Lord Himself, it was inevitable that the human consciousness of the members of Sai centres will escalate through the participation of programs deployed by the organization. 10

In the geeta there is a verse "whenever good people stand in the forefront of society, the people of the world generally will look up to such individuals for inspiration and attempt to follow the good examples set." This justifies why even the Lord who could have avoided being in the war chose to hold the reins and wash the horses after the war every day. Why? To teach people that duty is a must! When lords themselves come to the forefront to show that example, why not us?

Typical Question

What is the purpose of the Sai Organization? Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba says that the purpose of the Sai Organization as a whole is to awaken people to the Divinity inherent in them, to realize the unity in all, to foster Love, and to help p its people regain self-confidence and faith in God. It is not intended to promote any religion but to lead people toward the understanding of the underlying spiritual principles present in all religions; to make a Hindu a better Hindu, a Christian a better Christian, a Jew a better Jew, a Muslim a better Muslim, etc. Truth (God) is one. This is the cardinal principle on which Sai Organization work. The unity of all faith is the main plank of Sai S Organizations. 24

What is the purpose of the Sai Organization? 28

The individual transformation is the key to the transformation of the world. If man becomes good and ideal, the world will become happy and prosperous. Mere economic and social change without spiritual transformation will not bring happiness to society.

Therefore, the Sai organization should have spiritual transformation as its ultimate goal and it should strive for changing the hearts of the people.

What is the purpose of a Sathya Sai Baba Center? The purpose of a Sathya Sai Baba Center is to practice and exemplify the divine teachings of Sathya Sai Baba in order to encourage and assist people to lead genuine spiritual lives. The Sai Center strives to provide an environment where people who aspire to proceed in their spiritual journey can assemble and learn from one another. This is accomplished by engaging in devotional, educational, and service programs recommended by Sathya Sai Baba, which help us to progress along the spiritual path. These programs embody the universal values given to us by Sathya Sai Baba: truth, right action, inner peace, unselfish love, and nonviolence. An important program is the rendering of selfless, loving service to our fellow human beings. 31

What is the purpose of a Sathya Sai Baba Center? Sathya Sai Baba has clearly said, I I have not come on any mission of publicity for any sect or creed or cause; nor have I come to collect followers for any doctrine. I have come to tell you of this t universal unitary faith, this path of Love. He asks us to plant the seed of His teachings in the soil of our own culture so that it can grow up reflective of our culture; He asks s us to cultivate the attitude of oneness between people of all creeds, all countries, and all continents. He has said, Let the different faiths exist and let the glory of God be sung in all languages and tunes. This loving and expansive direction should be reflected in our Sai Centers. 32

What is the purpose of a Sathya Sai Baba Center? There is only one religion, the religion of Love. There is only one caste, the caste of humanity. There is only one language, the language of the Heart. There is only one God, and He is omnipresent. 33

What is the purpose of a Sathya Sai Baba Center? 34

MISSION for the Sai centres Spiritual & educational activities Service activities 35

Spirituality should be the basis of all your activities. You have to note that it is spirituality and not religion. Spirituality is the common core of all religions. When you practise spirituality, you derive Divine strength. Love for God is the foundation of spirituality.

Seva refines and perfects a human being and unfolds the faculties of his mind and intellect. Seva, which provides opportunities to express one s human qualities, ultimately leads one to the experience of the Divine.

Therefore, it is absolutely essential to understand that you are not separate from the society, and that whatever you do to the society, you are doing it to yourselves. You are doing seva only for Atmatripti or the satisfaction of the self.

Life with SAI SEVA Endless Hope! Life without SAI SEVA Hopeless End!

In your spiritual practices and in the organization, rules and regulations should be observed uniformly with discipline in all the regions. Your disciplined behaviour should attract people to our organization

The world is watching the activities of the organization very keenly. Hence, it is absolutely essential for the members of the organization to behave properly both in their public and private lives.

Structure of the International Organization

Accepting international responsibility, the World Foundation assumes the role of the supreme administrative body of all International Sri Sathya Sai Organisations and Institutions while the Prasanthi Council assumes the role of ensuring execution of the decisions/ instructions of the World Foundation. The structure and relationship between the World Foundation and Prasanthi Council would enable the directors and members to bring all elements of the Sathya Sai Organisations and Institutions (Overseas) together in a concerted effort towards the spiritual transformation of mankind.

SAI LEADERSHIP 50

DEFINITION Leadership is: the capacity to form plans that will succeed and the faculty to persuade others to carry them out in the face of all difficulties. 51

Plan should be realistic You must have info about: The size/quality of resources. the environment in which the plan is to be implemented. Ability to persuade others to implement the plans despite difficulties, discouragement and setbacks. 52

Capability & Effectiveness knowing what to do and GETTING THINGS DONE Difference in size of letters indicate the relative importance of the 2 components. It is the same as capability and EFFECTIVENESS 53

Who can be a good leader? A person whose thoughts, words and deeds are in harmony. Pure thoughts consist of 54

What are some of these Leadership Qualities? 55

Mistaken qualities These are not Sai Leadership qualities. 56

Clever Person Thoughts, Words and Deeds not in Harmony Thought Word Deed 57

True Leadership True leaders are hardly known, hardly know! no one knows that so and so is a leader. Sathya Sai Baba is a leader of leaders Water provided to 700 villages Water to Chennai, many do not know they are benefited by Sathya Sai Baba. Sathya Sai never goes and says I did it for you. Sathya Sai Baba does not like praise. He always says I should thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you. 58

What are the qualities of True Leaders? 1 st Leadership quality is not to struggle for Name, Fame and Recognition. 2 nd True leaders will be followed by batch of leaders who are admired True leader is never admired his followers are admired. 59

Qualities of True Leaders. 3 rd Who is a leader? The one who leads others by helping others to discover themselves, who enjoys the trust of others not that he is going to exploit anyone, nor that he is going to make use of anyone, nor to make anyone a follower. True leader will help you to discover yourself. 4 th True leader gives credit to others Swami will say my devotees have done it, my students have done it. 60

Trustworthy Leader Thoughts, Words and Deeds in Harmony Word Thought Deed 61

Five prominent mistakes we should not commit. 1) To work for personal gain crushing others, putting down others, put them to shame for personal gain. 2) Some people ask why are people born? Why do they suffer? What escape is there? Some people pass through so many problems. Sir, how long will the Kali Yuga (the Iron Age of corruption) last? Let us not worry about things we cannot change. 3) To insist a thing is impossible because you cannot do it. 62

Five prominent mistakes.. 4) Neglecting to study. Reading habit is very important because it develops our culture. It polishes and refines us 5) Because you love singing and you keeps saying singing is the only Sadhana or if you love seva and keep propagating seva as the only way. Spiritually is like a store house which allows everyone to take whatever they want to follow (study of scriptures, singing, meditating, seva etc.) Compelling others to do what you like and forcing other to do it is a mistake. 63

MAHAVAKYA OF LEADERSHIP TO BE TO DO TO SEE TO TELL TO BE is the beginning and end of leadership. 64

TO BE 90% of To Be of a leader is Character. Three Essential characteristics Three Essential characteristics Courage. Faith and Determination. Initiative. 65

Courage Courage to make Decisions. Courage to say No. Courage to take the blame when things go adversely. 66

Faith and Determination NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER LOOSE FAITH 67

Initiative Initiative. Self Starter Dynamic. No initiative. No one told me I was not ordered I did not know. To develop initiative. Take some quiet time to reflect /visualize the likely difficulties. Start every day by asking yourself a question: What can I, this day, do to contribute to the excellence of the Sathya Sai Organization practicing human values. 68

TO BE Dealing with people Be a good listener. Handling conflict: Choose to be Right or to be Kind. When you choose to be Right, you become a hostage to your EGO. When you choose to be Kind, You become a Host to GOD. 69

Dealing with people Give credit to your members for Success and take responsibility for Failure. Correct mistakes in a loving way. Control Anger. Give recognition. 70

TO DO By Personal example Practice what we preach - most potent technique for influencing people. Also called Silent Persuasion. 71

Persian Saying If the King plucks one apple from the public garden, the public will take away the roots!! 72

TO DO - THE GOLDEN RULE Swami summarized Dharma/Right Action in a very simple way: LOVE ALL SERVE ALL and HELP EVER - HURT NEVER ; ; The Bible says DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU. Nigerian proverb One going to take a pointed stick to pinch a baby bird should try it on himself to feel how it hurts! 73

How do you want to be treated? I want to be valued then Value others I want to be appreciated then Appreciate others I want to be trusted then Trust others I want to be respected then Respect others I want to be understood then Understand others I do not want others to take advantage of me m Do not take advantage of others 74

TO SEE Be in complete touch with the realities of the environment. Have the fullest possible information regarding the problem. Only then Only then Evaluate options. Make a sound decision. Evolve a realistic plan of action. 75

Essential ingredients of To See Be clear of goals Collect /evaluate all info about Human /material resources. Be clear of environment Of challenges/obstacles. Time to achieve goals. 76

TO TELL Easy If channel of Communication is Heart to Heart. If he is of good character, understanding, with sound knowledge and leads by personal example. Few Words are Necessary!! 77

TO TELL Communication is critical. Listen, consult, involve, explain, explain why as well as what. what. "... Praise loudly, blame softly." Catherine the Great. 78

TO TELL Always give your team the credit for your achievements and successes. Never take the credit yourself even if it's all down to you. You must take the blame and accept responsibility for any failings or mistakes that your people make. 79

TO TELL Never never never publicly blame another person for a failing. Their failing is your responsibility. 80

Integrity the most important requirement; without it everything else is for nothing. Leading by example Swami says Bend the Body y Mend the Mind be prepared to roll up your sleeve and be willing to lend a hand to members of your team no matter how great or menial the task. 81

Always doing what you say you will do keeping your promises. 82

Leadership: If one has good qualities and sound knowledge, and he leads by personal example, then very few words are necessary to convey what a leader wants 83

Meditate daily When you pray, You speak and GOD listens When you meditate, GOD speaks, and you listen. Meditation is an extremely powerful way to heighten your connection to your intuition. In tune tune with Atma/Spirit/Swami. Meditating is bit like running a 'full system restore' on a personal computer it's cleansing and helps get us back closer to our 'factory settings (Divine Self)' 84

85

86

87

88

Title is not needed to be a LEADER 89

Be a humble instrument and let Divinity Lead. 90

What you gain by your participation in the mission is Divine Grace, joy and delight. Do not lose the great opportunity that has come your way. Sanctify your lives through your dedicated service
