Though a human being wishes, he may not be successful. Well, the reason is something to ponder about. A human being can t give up his wrong habits. Why? A human being is considered to be the architect of his own fortune but it is mostly witnessed that most of the people decide on the basis of the situations that encompass them or on the basis of the people that influence their lives in one or the other way. They live under various pre-conceived prejudices or notions that their luck, god or planetary conditions affect them or their decisions. Such people are hardly aware or conscious of their wonderful inner strengths! Let s try to learn from a small formula as to how this can be changed. Firstly, if we desire to change the results of our actions, our actions are the ones that need to be changed and actions change when we change our own decisions. If we take the right decisions, we can definitely get the correct results. A wrong decision would invariably lead you to a wrong or undesirable result as our decisions decide our destiny. Hence, a human being can be considered the architect of his own fortune only when he can take good as well as correct decisions as our decisions design our destiny. For e.g. various students studying in the tenth standard have various ways or options to choose from: 1) Arts 2) Commerce 3) Science 4) ITI 5) Diploma 6) Giving up studies or taking a drop from studies. Their destiny after a span of a couple of years is largely depended on the decisions that they will take. Just think and ponder over the fact that your current position or status is the outcome of the decisions that you have taken in the past ten years. 2 Various News About Samarth Diamond An effort to understand the progress of the women in the diamond industry The women of the Mission Mangalam and the Sakhhi Mandal working under the DRDA (District Rural Development Agency) of Visnagar, Vadnagar and Satlasana talukas of Mehsana district, visited the women of Samarth Diamond and Narayani Gems and tried to know about their progress in the diamond industry. Guests on visit to Samarth Diamond A Yog Shibir organised for workers The members of the globally acclaimed companies De Beers Brokers and the Gemdex undertook a special visit to Samarth Diamond, Narayani Gems, Samarth Jewellery and Samarth Mart on August 30, The guests tried to know how work is carried out in Samarth Diamond and the other units. They tried to understand how the workers and the group of female workers (Narayani Gems especially) stress on the aspect of social upliftment with the 02 encouragement from the company. For the physical and mental happiness of the workers of Samarth Diamond, a five days Yog and Pranaayam Shibir was held from August 24 to 28, The Yog promoter Shri Krishnarajsinh form Patanjali Yoga Committee, Mehsana, headquartered at Haridwar, gave a detailed understanding about Yog-Pranaayam and various Asanas. The initiative was free of charge. All the workers were encouraged to adopt a healthy lifestyle following Yog and Pranaayam.

3 An inspirational effort of the children of workers Joyful celebration of Rakshabandhan A voluntary group of children of Samarth Diamond workers performed a mini drama in the presence of the students and staff members at Navdip Vidyamandir, Talegarh as well as Shri M. G. Patel Military School for Girls, Ganpat University, Kherva on August 15th and 18th, 2018 respectively. The children tried to convey an inspirational message of discouraging the use of single use plastic through this mini drama. Opening of the second polish unit in Narayani Gems Every branch and department of the company celebrate all the festivals with a lot of joy and enthusiasm under the mission of Samarth Diamond of spreading happiness. Carrying that tradition ahead, the festival of Rakshabandhan was celebrated enthusiastically in the office in Mumbai. A Picnic to Patadi for Managers On September 7, 2018, a new Polish Unit was opened in the Deluxe Department of Narayani Gems, a division of Samarth Diamond which functions exclusively for women. 6 Quality In Work We have already discussed about the two parameters in the previous edition i.e. Quality in experience and thoughts. Now let s discuss Quality in actions. First of all, it is very important to create a sense of consciousness about our routine actions and how we carry out them. We carry out three important actions: 1. Physical actions 2. Verbal Actions 3. Mental Actions And we perform these actions in three ways: 1. We do those actions ourselves. 2. We make others perform those actions. 3. We support others actions. Thus, it is necessary to think sincerely about the aspect of Quality in nine types of actions. 1) Physical Actions: We have our complete control in such actions so if we make all our physical movements in a conscious manner, they become qualitative. If we adopt the techniques of Time Study and Motion Study, we may complete many actions in a very short time and that too without getting tired. 2) When we make others perform physical actions: Unless another person has a clear understanding and knowledge of our intentions and until he becomes one with the system of work, he won t be able to give justice to it in the best possible manner. Hence, unless we guide him, make him aware of the result of the actions or create favourable circumstances for him, we can t expect a qualitative outcome from him. 3) Supporting actions performed by others: The festival of Diwali is just a few days away. Diwali, despite being a festival 06 of light, many people will fire crackers and it will result into pollution. If we don t make people aware of the consequences, we too become responsible for pollution. Similarly, if we find someone performing an undesirable action and can t make him realise it, we have only ourselves to blame for his action. 4) Verbal actions: We perform innumerable actions verbally but are not really conscious about the choice of words. One such example of this is the quarrel that results from abusive language. Such abusive language is invariably the root cause of many evils. 5) Making others perform through our verbal action: When we tell someone, Please let this be known to Maheshbhai, we actually, inspire others to act in the same manner. As a result of that, our words spread without their essence being properly realised. Hence, sometimes some messages lose their meaning and on the contrary, some meaningless words distort the actual message and the actual message doesn t get conveyed in its originally meant form. 6) Actions carried out by supporting or acknowledging others through words: When we say, This country will never progress, by speaking so negative, we not only support the actions of others but others also knowingly or unknowingly spread this negativity and the situation becomes rather worse. On the other hand, some words create history. For e.g. Britishers, quit India. The remaining three actions are carried out mentally. These actions are nothing but your thoughts. Let s learn about an incident. Albert s father was a priest. He was always benevolent from his childhood. He grew up to be a great philosopher. He attained a lot of success and wealth. Once it so happened that Albert was on a visit to the backward villages in the European forests. He was shocked to see their plight. They lacked the basic facilities of food, shelter, sanitation and education. The people of those villages couldn t Book Review 'Manavata' a beautiful book by Shri Raj Bhaskar, provides inspirational anecdotes to imbibe human values in our life. Shri Hiteshbhai D. Patel, IT Department, shares a few gems from the book. face even ordinary diseases and died due to lack of treatment. After Albert returned from those villages, he decided to quit his flourishing career of a proven writer, a great philosopher Shri Hiteshbhai D. Patel and a pianist. He made up his mind to be a doctor. He studied for seven years to be a doctor. His wife Helen also supported in this noble work. Both of them purchased, out of their savings, the necessary medical equipment and medicines. They settled in those thick forests and started treating the villagers free of charge. Friends, this was just one of many such incidents. Nobody is unaware about Mother Teresa and many such great people who were the greatest epitomes of humanity. We should be inspired from the incidents of humanity from this book and treat any of our friends, neighbours or workers with love, care and respect. 07
