A stage show will be organised at IGNCA premises after the end of the workshop in June Venue: Time: Mount Abu Public School and Mother Divine Public School, Rohini, New Delhi 9.00 am to pm Contact no.: , , Date : May 26 to June 24, 2018 Exhibition: PANKHA A Collection of Hand Fans from the Indian Subcontinent and Beyond by Artist Shri Jatin Das, Delhi IGNCA is hosting the exhibition in collaboration with Jatin Das Centre of Art (JDCA), A unique collection of Pankhas, traditional hand fans, have been exhibited in Twin Art Galleries, IGNCA. It features fans and related objects such as paintings, prints and films selected from the vast collection of eminent artist Jatin Das. The artist s collection began with a single hand fan gifted to him from a friend and has grown over the past four decades to over 5,000 fans into a world-class archive, possibly the largest collection of its kind.the month-long exhibition also features demonstrations by traditional craftspeople, fan-making workshops for children at the venue. Daily Pankha film screenings am, pm, 2.00 pm, 4.00 pm, 6.00 pm, 7.00 pm till June 24. A selection of short films and video clips on pankhas are being shown daily at the gallery. Every Sunday: 11 am pm, Fan making workshops will enable the (young) participants to create their own fans. Buddhi Yoga is a platform that "marries" technology and tradition for education. The buddhi yoga platform engages the player when he lands on a square with a word. This is a hindi - sanskrit word or the hindi language teacher - this board then becomes a tool to teach vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, etc. The word itself is associated with a story from our vast heritage of stories, these stories explore the meanings of the word. Thus a very concrete and wholesome understanding of words is what this tool can help deliver to the students by the above two engagements.
