Months of December, 2018 & January, A period for our Struggle by way of Agitational Programmes by Working & Retired Associations Dear Members, You might be aware that the XIth B.P.S. is long due for the working staff of our Unions. Unfortunately no notable development has since been made so far. In this connection, Agitational Programmes were chalked by our Award Staff Associations under U.F.B.U. and Officers Associations under AIBOC by way of Dharna, processions, candle light march and slogans etc. were organised in the month of December, 2018 followed by Bank Strike on by U.F.B.U. and on by AIBOC. This was a grand show of unity and struggle. Our members of Pensioners' Association of SBIPA, Chandigarh Circle also joined them. Meanwhile, Pensioners' Associations of all India under the banner of CBPRO and AIBRF also organised Mass Dharnas and Agitational Programme at all the State Capitals of India including Chandigarh, in which our Charter of Demands were raised. A successful Mass Dharna was organised by CBPRO & AIBRF on at Bank Square, Sector 17, Chandigarh, in which more than 250 pensioners/ retirees took part including few of our lady members also. The Dharna went from a.m. to 2.00 p.m. in which slogans were also raised against the Bank Management and the Government headed by the IBA (Indian Banks Association). Devander Singh Jatana, Convener-AIBRF (All India Bank Retirees Federation) in particular. The event was covered by the print & T.V. media adequately. The final Mass Dharna was organised by the All India various Pensioners' Organisations on at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, which was reportedly attended by about 3000 members. MEMBERS' DIRECTORY-2019 Hon'ble Members, As already advised, we plan to publish Members Directory as on We had requested through the columns of Pensioners' Mail to advise the undernoted office bearers, if any correction / updation of particulars in respect of any member is required. We are constantly receiving the requests from many members for changes & we are effecting the required changes promptly. Possibility of some communication gap can still not be ruled out. In view of this, we humbly request all the members to please scrutinise your particulars from the Members Directory as on 28th Feb., 2019 uploaded in our website i.e. sbipensionerschd.com and advise us if still some changes are required to obviate the possibility of any error. We also request our Vice Presidents and other office bearers at different centres to please help such members & try to send us centrewise corrections as some centres have already sent us consolidated required corrections in respect of their centre. AMBALA CITY Pensioners' Meet was organised by our Ambala City Unit on at Sai Baba Mandir, Railway Road, Ambala City at a.m. About 40 members despite cool day, participated in the meeting. The meeting was their satisfaction. The senior-most pensioner present in the meeting was honoured by the Circle Association with the presentation of a Shawl. The gesture was appreciated by all the members. In the end, Sh. Sarao, local Secretary & our Zonal Secretary delivered his vote of thanks speech. The event was followed by Tea & Snacks. chaired by Sh. H.S. Sarao, our Zonal Secretary and anchored by Sh. G.S.Deep. Sh. Deep handed the whole meeting procedure in a very joyous mood. To our surprise, three of our members recited Gazals in a very good voice. The meeting was attended by S/Sh. T.R. Gupta, General Secretary, K.K. Trikha, Dy. General Secretary, K.P. Joshi, Vice President and Sh. S.K. Sharma, Treasurer, SBIPA, Chandigarh Circle. Sh. T.R. Gupta addressed the present members about the latest developments in the SBI Federation and Banking Industry, in details and all the querries were replied for SIRSA UNIT The monthly meeting of our Sirsa Unit was held on The minutes of he last meeting were passed. Sh. C.M. Kataria, the Secretary of the Unit requested the Circle Association to send 15 copies of the monthly Pensioners' Mail instead of the routine 10 to enable them to meet the requisite demand with the addition of new members. A pocket size diary with all the telephone numbers and addresses of the members were published in the same alongwith telephone numbers of the President, General Secretary & Treasurer of SBIPA, Chandigarh Circle. the meeting ended over a cup of tea & snacks. This year with the collective efforts of the members, one Gas-Heater was donated to Kasturba Bal Ashram (Orphanage) on for heating the hall where the children live. SHIMLA UNIT Charity Our SBI Pensioners Association, Shimla Unit headed by our Vice President Sh. U.S. Negi annually conducts one Charity activity by contribution of members. 4 CHANDIGARH UNIT 1. A Trinniel conference of the S.B.I.S.A., Chandigarh Circle was held at Sector 46 Auditorium of Govt. College on Our respected Chief General Manager Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh was Chief Guest. It was a grand show of unity and strength of SBISA under the leadership of Sh. Sanjeev Bandlish, the General Secretary of the Circle Association, in which around 2000 members participated. They had invited their All India office-bearers as well past/retired office-bearers, who were very decently honoured. Our ARREARS OF 5TH TO 7TH B.P.S. (DECEASED ACCOUNT) The Corporate Office has devised the belowmentioed Undertaking i.e. ordinary Indemnity Bond for claiming of their dues. A Medical Check-up Camp was organised at First Floor of LHO, where our weekly meetings are held on , from the Staff and Doctors from Fortis Hospital, Mohali. About 100 pensioners availed this facility and consultations by their doctor were given free of cost. 3. 8 ACHIEVEMENTS AMRITSAR UNIT : S.P. Verma, our Member Dear Members, I am very much pleased to introduce our one of the pensioner member, Sh. S.P. Verma to all of you. For your information, this noble member was instrumental in the collection of donation on the arrears of 5th to 7th B.P.S. to the tune of about Rs.25,000/ - (Rupees Twenty Five thousand only) out of total collection of approximately Rs.45,000/- (Forty Five thousand only). He has handled so many deceased account arrears by way of helping/guiding them to claim the same. Sh. Verma is vry much respected in Amritsar as far his knowledge, help and devotion is concerned. He is doing this noble cause and helping the affecting claimants & strengthening his Association by way of contributions from them and that too voluntarily by the claimants. We are proud of Sh. S.P. Verma's concern for his former colleagues and the Association also. I have got no words to appreciate the services of Sh. Verma towards his former colleagues and his beloved Association. In this edition, you would find herewith a donation of Rs.5100/- to SBI Pensioners Association handed over to Sh. Verma for his further sending the same to us.
