Three Words Help Listen / Read the news story below and choose the correct answer. One of the first facts most people learn in school is that there are seven continents, the biggest is Asia and the 1: next/2 nd /smallest is Australasia. Well, that may actually not be quite true, because according to a team of scientists from the International Discovery Program (IDP) the Earth has actually eight continents, and they are not talking about the 2: mythical/debated/undiscovered lost continent of Atlantis! No, this new continent is called Zealandia and is located in the South Pacific Ocean. 2 The researchers claim that Zealandia is the world s 8 th continent and at 1.9m square miles is about two-thirds the size of 3: Australia/Africa/Europe and would be the smallest on Earth.
